Touched  base with Adam on Monday evening. He was in Gaitlinburg , escaping the howling winds and cold .He connected with some generous section hikers and shared warm lodging and meals with them.      Thanks for taking care of  my son!      The local outfitters are assisting him with his equipment issues so hopefully those will be resolved by Hot Springs.Despite the cold weather in the Smokies he still sounds upbeat.          .
